BREWERTON, NY - December 23, 2012 - John, Laura and Larry Wight, Cory Reed, Harvey and Joan Fink, and the entire Brewerton and Fulton Speedways staff, competitors and fans pass on their condolences to the Friesen family on the passing of Stan Friesen the family patriarch.
Stan passed away after losing his battle with cancer this morning at 4 am peacefully at home in St. Catharines, Ontario.
Stan was a great racer in the 60's and 70's. In 1971 he moved to promoter as he and Kurt Uhl purchased Merrittville Speedway. A year later they purchased Ransomville. Stan would become sole owner a short time later and celebrated his 40th season as Ransomville Speedway promoter last season. He will be sadly missed by all.
