Largest Purse In Hurricane 100 History Await Drivers At The Brewerton Speedway October 4

BREWERTON, NY - September 26, 2012 (By Dave Medler) - When drivers hit the speedway on Thursday, October 4th they will be battling for the largest purse in the 20 year history of the SUNY Canton Hurricane 100 Big Block/Small Block Shootout presented by Ferris Mowers.

On top of the  $10,000 winner's share, there will be a base purse of $36,625. Drivers will be racing for $2,500 in lap money and Tracey Road Equipment the title sponsor of the big block modifieds at both the Brewerton and Fulton Speedways will be paying $100 to each heat winner. Sunoco/MNR will be awarding a drum of race fuel to the Hard Charger Of The Race, plus there will be $250 bonus for first non-qualified Brewerton Regular.

Last year in what the fans call "The Race Of The Week"  almost 60 cars entered the event that saw Ryan Phelps take the exciting win. Phelps' night started out on a bad note as he flipped his car in hot-laps. The Phelps team seriously considered loading up the Big Red Towing/No.99/Bicknell and calling it a night before it started. Phelps' father and car owner Roger Phelps decided to thrash on the car with the crew and make an attempt to fix the car, those efforts paid off.

In the hotly contested 100 lap feature, Ryan Phelps battled back and forth with Billy Decker and others and then held off Pat Ward at the checkers. The top-four were separated by less than two-seconds at the finish.

Can one of the track regulars keep the money home like Phelps in 2011? Or will it be one of the top-running outsiders that will come in and steal the top-prize?  Find out by getting your tickets/Pit-Pass Vouchers online and by visiting this link http://brewerton.speedwaytix.com/hurricane100.php .
