BREWERTON, NY - August 26, 2012 (By Dave Medler) - After the successful SUNY Canton Sportsman Shootout in July, and thanks to sponsors for this Friday nights August 31 Sportsman race, the second appearance this season for the division looks to be a another winner for both race-teams and fans.
The incentives for the Brewerton Speedway race also carry over to the next night, September 1st and the Outlaw 200 Weekend September 28-29 at the Fulton Speedway. Below is a breakdown of what's up for grabs
August 31 Sportsman Event Info
1. Base purse is our standard $500 to win and $40 to start Fulton purse
2. $100 goes to each of the top ten finishers from Ernie Kreis and Sons Heating Co.
3. SUNY Canton is giving $50 to all cars that attempt to qualify and a $500 bonus to the winner of the September 1 Fulton race if he/she attempted to qualify at Brewerton on August 31.
4. The winner of the August 31 Sportsman race earns the POLE POSITION for the Industrial Tire of CNY Outlaw Weekend Sportsman Championship event. The Outlaw weekend event is now 50 laps with at least $1500 going to the winner courtesy of Industrial Tire of CNY.
5. Xtreme Lubrication has posted a $75 pail of lubricant for the Hard Charger of the race.
6. Tracey Road Equipment is sponsoring all Sportsman teams that race at both Brewerton and Fulton on Labor Day weekend by buying each team that participates at Brewerton with a pit pass for Fulton the next evening.
7. Any non-qualifiers will receive a complementary pit admission to the Friday, September 28th Industrial Tire of CNY Sportsman Championship.
8. Tires may be American Racer or Dirt Hoosier Sportsman
9. Draw will determine heat starting position
10. Redraw will determine top starting positions in the feature.

Also on the race card on NAPA Season Championship/Syracuse Crunch night will be the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, Nationwide Insurance IMCA Modifieds, Beaver River Distribution Mod Lites and Anchor Bar & Grill Four Cylinder Stocks.
The NAPA Winners Classic will also take place for the Modifieds. The race is for all feature winners at the Brewerton Speedway in 2012. The impressive list of drivers include, Ryan Phelps, Jimmy Phelps, Matt Sheppard, Larry Wight, Billy Decker, Alan Johnson, Dan Vauter, Rob Bellinger and Willy Decker.
Gates will open Friday night, August 31 at 5:30 with racing at 7:30 to kick off your Labor Day weekend .
