BREWERTON, NY - July 15, 2012 (By Dave Medler) - After their drives last Friday and Saturday at the Brewerton and Fulton Speedways, Mike Mullen and Jim Spano are this week's "NAPA Know How" performers of the week.
At the Brewerton Speedway, in one of the best features of the night, Mike Mullen who started ninth, was in a battle on his way to the front in the highly competitive 20 lap Beaver River Distribution Mod Lite feature. Mullen worked his way into the top-five just before halfway and the race was on to the checkers. On lap 16 Mullen was able to work his way by past feature winner Joe Garafolo and then held off some heavy hitters, Garafolo, Gary Jeffries, Jeff Isabell Jr., Matt Magner and Joe Isabell for the popular win.
At the Fulton Speedway, Jim Spano started deep in the field, twenty-fourth out of twenty-six cars in the 20 lap SUNY Canton Sportsman feature. Anyone who has witnessed a feature in this division knows any run to the front is tough. At the end of 20 laps, Spano got by 21 cars for a stout fifth place finish.
For their performances, Mike Mullen and Jim Spano will receive $100 “NAPA Know How Performer of The Week” that is awarded weekly at both Brewerton and Fulton Speedways to one driver that outperforms all others that week across all classes.
The new NAPA Brewerton and Fulton Speedway Racer Discount Card are again in place. Each active speedway competitor will receive a NAPA card that will provide discounted pricing on most racing related purchases throughout the 2012 race season. Drivers will need to sign up with Speedway officials to be eligible for the program.
