Brewerton Speedway Thanks Drivers And Fans in Helping A Little Racer In Need
(By Bill Foley) - Once again my faith in the auto racing community was realized on Friday night. A little eight year old girl named Breanna “Boo” Baker suffered a spinal cord injury at a Finger Lakes Microd show and had three vertebrae fused. The Brewerton drivers were asked to carry their helmets through the stands at intermission and they turned out in big numbers from all divisions. The fans rallied around the effort, Rob Keller said in the IMCA victory lane that he was donating part of his winnings, and numerous other people contributed for a grand total of nearly $1,900. Race fans rallied around a very young member of the racing community. This is why I am an auto racing fan. Cards can go to the family at Duane and Kris Baker, 917 Ithaca Road, Apartment 2, Willseyville, N.Y. 14864.
